SUMMARY: This is an excellent vintage Stratocaster. It plays and sounds better than many MIM models. Fully setup and ready to play. Guitar was upgraded to Fender Vintage Noiseless pickups with treble bleed circuit, Wilkinson high-ratio tuners and steel tremolo block. Fully copper shielded. No fret wear. Neck is shimmed for low action. Well-made guitar with great tuning stability, tone, sustain and playability. Includes gig bag.
CONDITION: Good to very good. Guitar has a few war wounds – one substantial ding on top, below the bridge, and several paint chips on the bottom of the body. Also has what appears to be a cigarette burn at the neck heel. No fret wear. See photos for detail.
WORK PERFORMED ($300 value): 2 pots were faulty so all pots, caps, resistor and wiring replaced with a new, genuine Fender wiring kit for Vintage Noiseless pickups. Missing tremolo cavity cover was custom fabricated to fit. Die-cast block saddles replaced with vintage Fender stamped steel saddles. All saddle set screws replaced with low-profile screws. Spring dampeners installed. Added missing trem bar and switch tip. Fret work (set, level, crown, dress and polish), fretboard cleaned, nut filed/polished, new strings (D’Addario EXL120 9-42), complete setup (truss rod, action, intonation, pickup height). Tremolo float set to Fender spec. Guitar cleaned and lightly polished. All parts/electronics tested and fully functional.
