Historic Makeovers R9 (converted R7) in Dirty Lemon Nitro. Refinished and aged in ’21 by Kim and his team. He replaced the electronics as well as all of the plastics with his Retro parts as well as put a new slimmer neck carve on it. This has his “newt” carve which I was told was between an R9 and R0 or basically perfect in my opinion. It has been Grover’d and is loaded with awesome Wizz Cherry Burst (Layla/Fillmore Set) Pickups.
It started its life as a 2014 Goldtop Historic R7 that someone had relic’d and wasn’t happy with the results. I bought it and immediately sent it to Kim to do his thing. We were going to refinish it in Goldtop again but after they stripped it, he recommended going Dirty Lemon even though it is a plaintop. It’s not super flashy or flamey but the finish is amazing and their Nitro and aging is second to none in my opinion. They had two options for refinishes at the time, I had everything done to this one but the Brazilian board replacement.
Happy to answer any and all questions. Selling to finance another historic makeovers project.
I’ll update the listing with exact measurements soon but I believe it weighs just over 9 pounds and the newt neck carve I think was .87 at the first fret.
