High gain HB1 humbuckers sound awesome and warm. I tried it out just to check everything is fine and it is. Can do the 303 jingly sound if you like that sort of thing but quite honestly you can play anything from jazz to metal with this guitar due to the solid body and versatility of these pickups.
Probably lends itself slightly more to playing lead due to the width of the neck but obviously rhythm is no problem, the neck is comfortable to play for long periods. I played it for a couple of hours without any discomfort.
The bridge is rock solid so there is no loss of tuning, avoiding the known problems documented with the classic bridge as on the 303 type models.The Grover tuners keep it in tune. After playing it I re-tuned it to make sure it was perfect and put it in it’s case, when I took it out again a week later it was still perfectly in tune.The build quality on this guitar is exemplary, everything about it is of the highest quality.
