This magnificent instrument is part of a private collection, cased and occasionally displayed, and is being offered for sale in excellent condition. There are a couple of checks in the finish on the upper bout as shown in the photographs, purely cosmetic and does not distract from the overall look or performance of the guitar. The 381V69 is now only listed as Legacy in the Rickenbacker catalogue, meaning there are no more production runs for this instrument. The world population is complete for this unique instrument. Derived from a design dating back to 1957, this guitar is memorable for its hand-carved German arch top and back. Employing only premium ‘charactered’ Maple, model 381V69 has a full bound body with ‘checked’ binding and extreme double cutaways, along with a bound crescent sound hole to complete this stunning guitar.
