Japan’s most popular original shape guitar that captivated many musicians.
Development of Yamaha’s electric guitar began around 1965. The staff was told that they would be making all original electric guitars as per the order from the company’s president at the time, Genichi Kawakami. The electric guitar Yamaha SG, which was produced under this order, is a pure-bred original shape guitar in Japan, and has been released to this day with numerous specification changes and diversified models.
This SG1000 was released in 1976 and is still a representative model of SG with many users. Features included in the SG1000 include a bi-sound system that allows you to obtain a single sound by coil tapping the humbucking pickup, and a direct circuit that prevents the sound from dropping to the ground, which would damage the high range of the sound itself. The set neck structure has a 3-piece mahogany and maple neck deeply joined to the mahogany body, allowing you to experience a solid attack, sweet and chewy midrange, and a unified sound. The SG1000, which can be said to be the basic set neck SG, is a masterpiece that is loved throughout the ages and across countries. It’s a guitar that can be used in practice even in modern times, and there is no doubt that it will be praised by people who don’t know SG, saying, “It’s a guitar I’ve never seen before, but it has a good sound.”
