Roland GS-500 Electric Guitar Synth Synthesizer Controller 24 Pin Connection Vintage

Hello ladies and gentlemen. You’re looking at this awesome vintage Roland GS-500 circa 1970s. This is not only a crazy awesome guitar but a piece of music history. Fully functional. Straight neck. The tuners have been upgraded to Schaller made in Germany tuners.

Some of the guitars we see of this model have been stripped of their insides or don’t feature the 24-pin connection that is required to access all the features of the guitar. This does have the pin connection point and electronics inside. Some are not sure if their units work. We have another GR-500 module and cable set which we own, which is currently private stock and not for sale. The cables are easy to pickup.

It’s a delight to play this blast from the past. Three of the switches on it have been replaced. Originally it’s a wide switch, but the replacements are just standard replacements. The nut has been replaced it looks like. While the instrument is playing great with no problem it looks like the nut could be seated better. Maybe we’re being over critical. There’s a split mark by the nut on the upward side, but sealed and stable. There are some dings and scratches on the instrument. It’s missing some screws on the cavity plate covers, but securely held in place by the ones that are there. There is a little corrosion on the bridge from use over the years and some screws have some corrosion on them. The bridge is a part that is easy to replace and not taking away from use if replaced, as well as screws, so if someone wanted to do that it would be an easy upgrade.

It’s a fantastic instrument that is currently ready to rock! If you wanted to spend maybe $100-$200 in some parts and setup it could go from a rock machine to a quite nice instrument. It’s a rare find on the market. These have been going up in price over the years!
