I have a Gibson Les Paul Studio Platinum from 2004 in an Metallic Ebony. 300 where made in this color.
Besides the finish on the guitar. What made these guitars special was it features an Ebony Fret Board and Abalone inlays. Brushed nickel pickup covers and brushed Grover Tuners.
Pickups are a 490R and 490T. The neck is definitely more of a 1950’s fatter neck.
The brushed aluminum is definitely susceptible to tarnishing easily, and the guitar has dings throughout the body. Recently set up with 9.5s, guitar is functional with no breaks.
