This ’64 Strat made Fender’s Custom Shop for us as a CC/NOS version. The guys did a really good job with aging the nitro lacquer. A smooth crackling, just like an instrument that has rested safely in its case for many years and whose lacquered surface then shows the typical aging of nitro lacquer without having received any real signs of wear. The NOS hardware appears as good as new. The back of the neck is just as untouched. The paint here has been barely visible matted – just so that it doesn’t stick and simply feels good. The 57 Style Soft “V” has become one of our most popular neck profiles. It supports the left hand, feels very nicely in the hand and is far away from beeing bulky. What else? 12″ radius and 6105 Narrow Tall Dunlops!
When it comes to the pickups, the choice of our combination is convincing every time you here it: a “Texas Special” on the bridge, a “Fat 60” in the middle and a “69 Strat” in the neck position.
