Rare Crews ALV by one of Japan’s leading manufacturers, Crews, is now in stock.
This one was produced with the motif of “that V” using the finest walnut wood that was miraculously obtained from a well-known wood supplier.
The body is walnut/maple/walnut, and the neck is mahogany with a laminated maple center.
Walnut, with its unique hardness and density, is often used for high-end furniture, etc. It is characterized by its brightness and crispness in the treble range and thick midrange, which is different from that of mahogany.
Unlike the regular model, two K&T ST. Louis pickups designed for this model are mounted.
The neck pickup has a mellow but not too blurred sound image, while the bridge pickup has a crisp humbucker sound that takes advantage of the walnut body.
The weight of the walnut body is a concern, but perhaps the solid seasoning of the wood has an effect, and the exquisite weight balance makes playing for a long time stress-free.
The exterior condition of the instrument has no noticeable damage to the body, although there is some tarnishing of metal parts and some minor scuffs and scratches on the body.
The neck and frets are in good playing condition.
This guitar was originally made for left-handed players, but the previous owner has modified it for right-handed players (nut change).
You can play it bluesy as it is as a reverse V-shape, or you can return it to a left-handed setup and name it Lucy.
This is a Crews ALV that was produced in very small numbers and is rarely seen in used condition, so fans should not miss it.
