Music Man StingRay II Guitar 1977 – 1980 – Sunburst

$ 1350.00

I have a unique 1977 Music Man Stingray II guitar to offer, which is fully original and preserved in excellent condition. It is a solid body electric guitar, designed by Léo Fender himself after he left Fender and founded Music Man in 1971. The Stingray II model, produced from 1976 to 1980, is known for its high quality of workmanship and innovative technical solutions, which makes it a valuable piece for collectors and musicians.

Specifications:

Body: Made of maple wood.

Neck: Maple, with a maple fingerboard.

Pickups: Two original humbuckers, providing a strong and full sound.

Electronics: Active, which was a novelty at the time, offering a wide tonal palette.

Bridge: Fixed bridge with strings pulled through the body, which ensures long sustain and sound stability.

The guitar has recently been professionally serviced by a luthier, where it has been thoroughly inspected, refreshed and adjusted to ensure optimum tone and playing comfort.

The frets are acceptable but are due for replacement.

The guitar comes with its original hard case, which is also in excellent condition. It has some wear and a few small dents, but these do not interfere with playability and add character.

Popularity: Although the Music Man Stingray II was not as widely known as some of Léo Fender’s other models, it gained recognition among musicians for its unique sound and versatility. Due to its association with Léo Fender and its innovative solutions, this model is sought after by collectors and vintage enthusiasts today.

Music Man did not keep such precise records as some other companies (e.g. Fender), but based on available information and analysis of other instruments with similar serial numbers, it can be assumed that the guitar with the number G003368 was manufactured in early 1977.

This is a unique opportunity to become the owner of this extraordinary instrument with a unique history, excellent sound and long sustain.
