Up for sale, a Jackson Stars Soloist model SL-J2E in near mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. A rare Japanese domestic market model, the Jackson Stars instruments are the direct descendants of the Grover Jackson line, expertly crafted at the Chu Shin factory. Finished in a sleek Black gloss, this Jackson features heel-less maple neck through construction with alder body wings and a 24 fret rosewood board with jumbo fretwire. The tonewood complement ensures an immediate, clear acoustic quality, providing the perfect platform for the EMG 81 pickup pair.
Utilizing powerful ceramic magnets and close aperture coils, the EMG 81 was designed for optimal note detail, enhanced high end cut, and fluid sustain. Traditionally used in the bridge position yet offered from the factory in both the bridge and neck positions on the SL-J2E, the EMG 81 is engineered so that lead work will slice through even the densest mix. The guitar weighs 7lbs 11oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with low action, spot-on intonation, and fresh 9-42 strings.
The maple neck features contoured, heel-less construction and a slender D-shaped profile carve with round shoulders and an effortless feel, measuring .760″ deep at the 1st fret and .825″ at the 12th. The bound thick slab rosewood fretboard features a 15” radius, shark fin inlay, and pristine stock jumbo fretwire. The guitar plays cleanly in every register up the straight neck with an ideally adjusted and responsive truss rod. The scale length is 25 1/2“, and the locking nut measures 1 5/8″ in width. The headstock is fitted with the original Gotoh-made and Jackson Stars-branded black tuners that turn smoothly.
The electronics function as intended, with Master Volume and Tone controls with knurled black knobs and a three-way pickup selector toggle. The Schaller-branded Floyd Rose Licensed vibrato is designed for deep divebombs and broad, expressive wails with ideal tuning stability, and the unit comes complete with its original arm. Finished in gloss Black, the guitar is exceptionally well-kept, and cosmetic wear is limited to a couple faint marks and scuffs mostly relegated to the perimeter of the body. The neck sports a pristine gloss finish.
