Super rare 2001 Jackson KV4 in barely played condition. There are a number of finish checks and very small and shallow dings that were all shown in the pics. Where the neck meets the wings right next to the fretboard, there are two line checks in the finish on top and bottom (either side of fretboard). A small ding near the volume pot. The points are all chip free however on one of the horns there seems to be pigment missing but clearcoat is unaffected. Its about 1/8″ area on the wing tip. No major chips or cracks anywhere. No wood or paint missing. Neck is straight and solid. Guitar plays beautifully.
Usually excellent is reserved for guitars without any dings but at 24 years old, and the nearly unplayed condition the guitar is in, i didnt find it fair to call it “very good”. You can tell it has been very well taken care of. The silver paint is really cool looking withba very very fine metallic (sparkle) appearance.
Frets are like new. I meticulously cleaned the entire guitar, polished the frets with micromesh and oiled the fretboard with 2 passes of lemon oil. Jack was replaced and a weak solder connection was fixed at the 3 way switch connection. Stock Seymour Duncan TB-4 (JB) bridge pickup installed. I believe its a jazz neck pickup as electronics are all stock. I dont know the difference between this JB and the one I got In a new American Series soloist but this one from 2001 sounds beefier to my ears than the one in my other guitar.
Chrome tremolo bar is included for the Jackson licensed floyd rose bridge. Foam was installed on the trem cavity cover to prevent spring noise.
Action is as low as i could get it and still have great tone without excess buzz. Can be set up even lower if you desire to do so yourself but the action i believe is perfect.
Perfectly intonated to Eb (e flat) and set up with a 46-10 set of Kerly Music strings, which are no longer made but are some of the best strings ive ever used. They are discontinued due to the company going out of business around covid times. You can still find sets on reverb but they are very scarce.
Comes with Jackson lightweight molded case thats also in excellent shape. Handles and all latches are intact, inside is clean and all the feet haven’t been smashed in as is the case with these usually.
Ships fully insured and will pack bullet proof as I always do. Great care goes into cleaning, setting up and shipping any guitar I sell so they are safe and readily playable as soon as you receive it.
