Ibanez RG670-Royal Blue Sunburst – Japan only

$ 735.00

Fellow Ibanez lovers/collectors, I have something both rare and unique for your consideration – this is a Japan domestic market only Ibanez RG670 in royal blue sunburst. It has a light ash body and a Bolivian Rosewood fretboard. Dimarzio air zone humbuckers are installed in both positions, and I have given her a thorough cleaning (naphtha, F1 oil, D5 Deoxit on electronics, etc).

She’s got a few small dings which I’ve pictured, but nothing major, and the hardware is faded/oxidized to various degrees. That said, it’s a rare model, in a rare tonewood with a rare fretboard that was only sold in Japan – this thing is awesome. It’s basically a pre-‘prestige’ nebula green RG652.

Will ship in a generic hardshell case. Please reach out with any questions. Thanks for looking!

From Ibanez wiki:

“The RG670 is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in mid 1993. It was made in Japan by FujiGen.

The RG670 features a light ash body bolted to a maple Wizard neck with a 24-fret Bolivian rosewood fingerboard with dot position markers. Components include Ibanez pickups with a pair of V7 & V8 humbuckers flanking an S1 single-coil, a Lo-Pro Edge double locking tremolo bridge with a locking nut and Gotoh tuning machines.

For 1996 the fretboard was changed to rosewood and the pickups were changed to Ibanez Quantums.

The RG670 was available only in Japan and was discontinued after 1997.”
