Few production guitars have ever matched the quality of the first run Japanese crafted Ibanez RGs!

When Steve Vai teamed up with Ibanez in 1986 he created the perfect metal machine. The RG560 shares all the same specs as the signature JEM model but with fewer color and pickup options to make it within reach of the average player. The slim neck couldn’t be faster complete with a flat fretboard built for speed; you can shred to your heart’s content. The first generation Edge vibratos are legendary for their stability and comfort, dive bomb for days and always stay in tune. This is a finely tuned metal machine with no compromises!

Ibanez introduced the RG in 1987 and this beauty comes from the first year of production. They’re some of the most coveted Ibanez’s around and for good reason! They’re fantastic as-is or make great platforms for customization. I own 6 RGs from the first run they’re so good, but I’m trying to pare it down to the one RG to rule them all.

Condition-wise, this thing is excellent. The bridge pickup has been switched to a DiMarzio PAF Pro copy. Can’t recall the brand, but it’s tight, fast, and aggressive which is what I’m looking for in an RG. The only possible upgrade to this guitar would be a full set of DiMarzio, Duncan, Bare Knuckles etc. The stock pickups are good but have room for improvement. Body has minimal wear, a few dents around the corners, frets are in near perfect condition, plating has worn off the knobs. All significant wear marks have been photographed. This guitar is in excellent, but not perfect, condition. Setup with Ernie Ball 9s in E standard.
