Ibanez American Master MA3 MA-3 RA Gresco USA Custom Shop RG Ultra Rare HSH Purple

$ 9999.00

Ibanez American Master MA-3 USA Custom Shop RG Type Super Strat

Ultra rare purple hum/single/hum variant. The vast majority of these guitars are hum/hum in cherry burst (see my other listings for one of those). I was told by Roger Gresco (the guy who made the guitar) that there were only 4 or 5 purple ones. The hum/single/hum variant is also very rare. This may be the only one in this configuration. I’ve never seen another.

As far as I’m able to determine, these were the first ever topographic neck thru guitars. What that means is it’s neck through but instead of the body being two pieces glued onto the neck as wings, there is a channel routed into a one piece body and the neck is laid into it.

These are, hands down, the greatest “shred” guitars ever made. I say that as someone who goes to NAMM every year and plays all the boutique guitars. I own extremely high end guitars like Vik and Equilibrium and my brother has Nik Hubers.

I bought every single one of these that I could find for the past 20-something years and that was only 8 guitars. These play SUPER fast and can get crazy low action even by Ibanez standards.

They were made by Roger Gresco of RA Gresco Guitars for Ibanez and I’ve become personal friends with Roger from acquiring these guitars. If you have specific questions, I can most likely answer them and, if not, I can ask Roger.
There are a couple imperfections in the clear on the back of the body. I’ve tried to capture them in the pictures. Overall, it’s in fantastic shape for a 30 year old vintage guitar. The paper is still on the back control covers.
Comes in the original Ibanez American Master branded hardshell case. The edge piping on the one side of the case is missing as pictured.
You are welcome to come check it out/pickup in NYC.
