Ibanez 2460 Single CutawayArchtop – Natural

$ 3000.00

Ibanez 2460NT Archtop for sale (SN C776893 – Made in March 1977).

This instrument is one of the “lawsuit guitars” made by Ibanez which were a relplicas of the Gibson L5. Gibson sued Ibanez to stop production of these instruments. This particular guitar was built by one of Ibanez’s master luthiers and is signed on the label.

The 17 inch top is spruce, the back is flamed maple, along with maple sides. The neck is also maple and the fingerboard is ebony with block pearl inlays. Several of the parts of the guitar have been replaced (e.g. pickups and pickguard). All the electonics work well.

This guitar has “that sound” and it’s well set up and plays quite easily. It’s a very nice instrument, and she looks damn good for a 46 year-old beauty! However, it does show it’s age as the plastic bindings have gassed off over the years, and subsequently clouded the finish near the bindings. There some minor dings on the guitar but overall it’s still a thing of beauty. When you bring it out of the case it still turns heads, I have owned this guitar for 30 plus years and have decided it’s time to part and let someone else enjoy it. If you are looking for the sound and the build quality of a L5 without taking out a new mortgage this is your guitar. Happy to answer any questions you may have.
