The 6124 Anniversary was released in celebration of Gretsch’s 75th anniversary in 1958. Originally sporting a Filter ‘Tron pickup, the model switched to a Hi-lo ‘Tron in 1960. Gretsch also produced a Smoke Green finish as the 6125.
Featuring an archtop maple laminate body with a rounded Venetian cutaway and a single HiLo-Tron pickup in the neck position. An unbound Brazilian rosewood fingerboard is adorned with 8 mother of pearl “thumbprint” inlays along the bass edge. The original gold plastic “Gretsch” logo pickguard is in good shape, as is the roller bridge and the “G” nickel-plated tailpiece. A three way toggle switch is located in the upper bass bout, and a single rotary tone control is positioned in the upper treble bout. The f-holes are open and unbound and the original Waverly tuning machines are present. The neck is nice and chunky with a rounded profile.
These guitars were produced from 1958 through 1980, own an early production example that has had just the right amount of maintenance to provide many years of future enjoyment!
Hard shell case included.
