G2557, Pre-Fender Korean made, has Electromatic in gold on the headstock rather than
Gretsch. I read that this was a
special Guitar Center run that has been long discontinued. It was a MIK reissue loosely based on the famous Harrison Duo Jet. It
has Gretsch designed humbucker type pickups, 3-way switch, a master volume, one
tone control, two pickup specific volume controls, and the B-7 Bigsby. It’s
well made except I would consider replacing the small gauge wiring with
something better at some point. Pots all sound clean and static free. Note the square
inlays which are not typical on today’s Electromatic. The neck nut measures
1.69″(or 43cm). The neck thickness is not too fat ,which I did like. Action is low with no buzz or dead frets. Gretschbuckers sound hot with lots of growl. Come with OEM case in beat up shape that still protects. Not chambered, so it’s as heavy as a Les Paul. A few nicks, swirls, and scrapes, but in all around very good shape. Pickguard is a replacement, but I think it looks better with out it. New tuning pegs, holds tune well with added roller bridge. Could definitely gig with it.
There is a kink of finish smudge on headstock over Electromatic logo and under it. not too bad, but noticeable.
Will pack extremely well and ship UPS ground. Add $15 shipping to Cali/ Ore/ Wash/ Colo.
