Gretsch G6114B New Jet 2001 Transparent Black w/HSC — FREE SHIPPING!

$ 1399.00

For sale is my wonderful sounding, easy playing, 8 pounds even (on my digital home scale), 2001 Terada factory build. This one is the only black ‘burst example I can find in the used market at the moment, and I’m going to call it as being in VG condition (you might consider it EXC but I’m leaning conservative in this description so no one can claim either surprise and/or anything less than extra full disclosure), given that there’s — as pictured above — a small finish chip on the top edge of the treble side bout and mild clouding of the clearcoat around that top edge, some flaking of the chrome on the “G” tailpiece, a less than invisible past install and holes-filled removal of an aftermarket Bigsby, and a nice quality roller bridge that’s rock solid (i.e., no pings or rattles) but obviously not the stock TOM these guitars shipped with from the factory. Here are the specs straight from the Gretsch marketing copy of the period…

Comes with the form-fitting, plush, locking (key included) Gretsch-brand TKL hardshell case pictured above, which isn’t new but is entirely undamaged (and might even be original, I don’t know). Frets are in great shape, there’s no crackle from the electronics, and you’ll get a variety of tough tones (and sweet cleans, too) from these TV Jones-designed Power’Tron-like pickups (there are several videos of these guitars up on YouTube, go have a look ‘n’ listen). Be the only player on your block — probably in your State — with one of these relatively rare birds — er, Jets! I’ve averaged the prices of the one Antique Maple and five Transparent Red examples available on this platform right now, and — unlike those other listings — am throwing in CONUS ground shipping at my expense (and just $50 to Canada). Am also NOT asking a premium for the less common and quite striking (to my eyes, anyway) Transparent Black finish, so, we’re talking a total of $1,399 all in. Thanks for checking out my offering, and Happy Holidays to all!
