Channel you’re inner yee haw with this Country Gentleman right here. Chet Atkins was one of the best pickers of country music and this here guitar was designed by him and Gretsch to get the job done.
These are a great way to get into a vintage guitar for fairly cheap all things considered. You can scoop a brand new one of these for around $2600 or you can get the real deal aged tone wood and vintage version for less. It’s a no brainer, go for the old wood.
I’ll be the first to say that I’m not super well versed in these guitars so bear with me. I believe this has the original electronics such as the desired filtertron pickups. I believe this is the more rare single mute version rather than the double mute. The mute is removed as most people besides Chet actually used it. The hardware is gone except for the actual mute piece.
This Gretsch has the typical binding rot going on. Every single Gretsch from this era has it. Just didn’t hold up to the disease of time. I just rock it as it but in case you want to do something about it, there will be a little bit of binding included in the case.
The snap back leather piece on the back is original. It’s shrunk a bit so it’s hard to get everything to snap.
This could use an honest setup to your preference. I’m not the best with the floating bridges but it should be simple for a pro.
Pretty much comes as pictured. Please ask for specific pictures as I’m not super versed on these. I want you to be happy with what you’re getting.
