Get classic ’50s & ’60s -inspired Gretsch sound and style with the all-new Electromatic Classic Hollow Body guitars. Crafted with essential Gretsch hollow-body sound, style and playability, these no-nonsense guitars are your next-step Gretsch.

The left-handed G5422GLH Electromatic Classic Hollow Body Double-Cut with Gold Hardware features a laminated maple body with vintage-inspired perimeters and refined arches, as well as all-new trestle block bracing to help reduce unwanted feedback. By increasing rigidity and contact between the top and back of the body, the new trestle block design also results in the sound having a faster attack with more focus, snap, and increased sustain. Coupled with all-new FT-5E Filter’Tron pickups, this hollow build’s voice explodes with huge full-bodied punch, classic chime and enhanced presence, clarity and note definition.

An all-new Classic “C”-shaped maple neck offers a more comfortable playing feel for improved playability and performance, and is topped with a 12″-radius laurel fingerboard.

Alive and resonant, the G5422GLH also features a versatile upgraded control layout including master volume with treble bleed circuit, master tone, individual pickup volume controls and three-position pickup toggle switch, oversized bound F-holes, multi-ply body binding, smaller late-’50s G6120 bound headstock, vintage-style open-back tuning machines, Graph Tech NuBone nut, pearloid Hump Block inlays, secured Adjusto-Matic bridge and a Gretsch G-cutout tailpiece.

Classic FT-5E Filter’Tron humbucking pickups

First designed in 1957, Gretsch Filter’Tron pickups have adorned some of the company’s finest guitars ever since — classic Gretsch tone just can’t be beat! The G5422GLH Electromatic hollowbody features FT-5E Filter’Tron pickups. These stellar humbuckers capture incredible output and sustain devoid of hum and crackle.

Exceptionally flexible electronics

The Gretsch G5422GLH Electromatic allows you to pull off a lot of tonal tricks. Volume controls for each pickup help you create a perfect balance between warmth, bite, and brilliance when both pickups are engaged. The master tone control lets you fine-tune your sound once you have the pickups dialed in. And thanks to the master volume control, you can take your tube amp from clean to growling without changing the balance between your pickups. And of course you’ll get sweet tone from the neck and bridge pickups individually.

Redesigned trestle-block bracing

Traditionally, trestle-braced guitars feature two U-shaped braces that run parallel from the neck joint to the bridge, simultaneously bracing the top and the back. This pattern enhances sustain and resonance but falls victim to feedback. Now, Gretsch unveils a new trestle block bracing design that enhances the performance of the fan-favorite trestle bracing pattern. Trestle-block bracing facilitates more contact between the top and back while adding extra stiffness to the traditional design. Trestle-block bracing flaunts a quick, snappy attack, more sustain, and greater resonance — all without the dreaded hollowbody feedback.

Gretsch twang and punch for lefties

Finding exactly the right guitar can be difficult for left-handed players. But Gretsch’s G5422GLH Electromatic hollowbody electric guitar puts the company’s unmistakable tone in a left-handed hollowbody that’s sure to please. With top-end features like the FT-5E Filter’Tron pickups and expertly applied body, F-hole, and fretboard binding, left-handed players searching for the powerful tones of Brian Setzer, Billy Duffy, and Duane Eddy can rejoice in the quality of their new guitar.
