Up for sale is a beautiful 2004 Gretsch G6131T Jet Firebird in VG condition and perfect working order. We just gave this a pro set up with a set of Ernie Ball Turbo Slinky’s (9.5-46) so it plays amazingly with a straight neck, low action and accurate intonation. The pair of Filter’Tron sound exceptional and have all of the clarity, warmth and shimmer you’d expect.
Cosmetically, this nearly 20 year old instrument is really clean and has been well taken care of over the years. That said, it does exhibit some mild cosmetic wear such as: there are a few tiny dings scattered around, swirl marks and light scratches in the clear coat from handling and cleaning. The original frets look great still with only a small amount of light play wear on frets 1-5 just under the plain strings. See pics for condition and please excuse any reflections.
It appears that this Bigsby tailpiece and Vibramate String Spoiler are upgrades and not original to this guitar. You can see two small filled holes around the bottom strap button from the original Gretsch branded tailpiece. This vibrato system works flawlessly and is super fun to use! Original tailpiece is not included. We’re not sure about the originality of the bridge as we’ve seen both this tune-o-matic style and the Gretsch Space Control style on these. Everything else appears to be original.
Comes with the original hard shell case, case key and truss rod wrench. The guitar weighs 7lbs 7.7oz. The nut width is 1.675”. The neck thickness is .805” at the 1st fret and .915” at the 10th fret.
