Saying goodbye to my good old friend Gibson L6-S and what a nice guitar he is.
Based on serial number most likely made in 1974-1975.
Fully functional. Low action no buzz, good settings, distinguished sound from those Bill Laurence pickups.
6 position switch brings great deal of tones as outlined below.
Cosmetically I would say Excellent for the edge – only something you would expect from carefully handled instrument of that age. See pictures.
The black Dot inlays are stickers and can be removed – original are pearl color see the pictures.
Also I don’t know if Grover tulip tuners are original. Most likely not.
It was cleaned and serviced recently and new Gibson Vintage Reissues 10 gage strings put.
It comes with Gibson soft bag and strap as pictured.

The L6-S Custom has a six way rotary selector switch, complete with “chicken head” pointer knob. Starting with switch position #1, in the most counter-clockwise position, the available pickup switching options are as follows:
- Both pickups, in series
- Neck pickup, alone
- Both pickups, in parallel
- Both pickups, parallel out of phase, with the neck pickup’s bass response restricted through a series capacitor.
- Bridge pickup, alone
- Both pickups, series out of phase.
