This Gibson Melody Maker with SG body shape was made in the USA in 1968. The original deep red metal-flake color has faded to a burnt orange, although the original color remains under the pickguard where it was shielded from the sunlight that caused the color change. While the finish on the front of the body and neck is original, there is overspray on the back of the body. The parts are original except for the tuners and strap buttons. The tuners are repro klusons and the tuner holes have not been enlarged. The original pickup has been mounted to the body instead of the pickguard, unclear why. This guitar has been pro-setup in our store and plays and sounds great. It comes with a non original hard case.
