Gibson Les Paul Standard Double Cut 24 Fret Rare Finish, Super low Action

$ 2200.00

Gibson Les Paul Standard Double Cut in rare finish, which is a translucent gray/black.  24 frets, levelled for super low action.  With original Gibson case.  Real Honduras mahogany body and neck, rosewood board, stunning top.  Grover tuners.  1 piece back, which is super rare on LPs nowadays except custom shop historic reissues.  24 frets, MUCH better upper fret access than a standard Les Paul.  Tonepros locking Bridge that won’t fall off and screw up your setup during string changes.  Long neck tenon like custom shop historics. Weight is a svelte 7lb 5.5oz.

60s neck, medium C measuring .92” thick at the 12th fret.  Frets levelled for super low action.  Action at 12th fret currently set at 1mm high E (.04”) 1.25mm Low E (.05”) but I’ll set it for your preference.

The top is stunning and would be an artist or private stock top on a PRS. Has that much sought after “liquid moving under glass” effect as you move it around in the light, which the best figured maple tops have.

Cosmetic condition is very good.  Polish swirl, a few small clear coat indents, the most significant of which is on the side of the body bass side, see pics.  Some checking around low E tuner hole.  Small stuff you’d expect on a Gibson of this age, still a fantastic looking beautiful guitar.

Electronics:  Gibson 498T bridge, 490r neck.  Stock pots replaced with Wd/CTS tight tolerance pots that actually measure 500k (most “500k” pots measure well below 500k leading to loss of clarity and muddy tone).  Tone cap replaced with orange drop.

Unlike most sellers, including music stores, when I sell a guitar it will arrive clean, with good strings, set up (and not one of those awful music store ‘set ups’ that aren’t!) and ready to play with nothing more than tuning and possibly a truss rod tweak if the climate is a lot different where you are than where I am.  I hate receiving guitars that play like crap, look like someone sweated all over them and threw them in a case, so I don’t sell that way!

Some quotes from previous buyers:

“Ray is a perfect example of what makes the Reverb marketplace worth being a part of. Not only was everything about the transaction absolutely perfect, Ray went the extra mile to help out with advice on other guitars I have! I can’t recommend Ray highly enough, and if Ray is selling something you want, you won’t regret giving him your business. Might just be the best interaction I’ve ever had on Reverb!!! AAA ”
