Up for sale is a 1987 Gibson Les Paul Custom in ebony with ebony fretboard and nicely patina’d gold hardware. This guitar is very dear to me and is hands down the best Les Paul in terms of sound and playability that I have gotten To play. Lucky for you, I’m an SG guy. This was stored in its case for years by the previous owner and has been treated with utmost care while in my possession. The bridge and posts have been upgraded to top of the line Faber ones that only add to the already unreal sustain. The nut is bone and was plek’d in Austin, TX using the only plek machine in the city that is not privately owned. Pickups and grovers are all original. The pickup selector has been swapped out for a more reliable one as the original was a bit temperamental. The top strap button is not original and the bottom strap button is not in but is included. This had strap locks when I got it(which I hate). The bottom button hole needs to be fixed up with the at-home “toothpick method” or by your local luthier as the screw does not sit tight(I blame the strap locks). This is a super easy fix that I’ve done on many guitars throughout the years- vintage and new alike. There are some slight remnants of blue lock tite around the hole. The original bridge, posts, and pickup selector are included. The fretboard is in great condition with plenty of fret life left. There are no repairs, cracks, or breaks. The only notable scratches/ dings include one dong to the top right on the headstock, a scratch above the pickup selector and a small indent to the right of the pickup selector. I did my best to showcase these in the photos, but man is it hard to take pictures of a black guitar! Overall this thing is awesome especially if you are planning to play it instead of hanging it up. It comes with the original chainsaw case with blue velvety insides. All latches function perfectly. Feel free to ask any questions you may have. I’ll do my best to answer them. Shipping is on me. It will be packed well for a safe journey. Thanks for looking!
