Here’s a really nice 2008 Gibson Explorer made in USA featuring solid mahogany body and neck with a rosewood fingerboard. Set-neck construction for maximum sustain and resonance.
This guitar is in very good condition, it is ready to play-needs nothing.
The body is very clean with minimal handling wear-light scratches, etc. The Ebony paint is nice and glossy with a classy cleanness.
There is a small mark in the finish just below the bridge-see photos. The back typical handling wear as well with a few small line scratches near the strap pin. The neck joint is solid. The neck is smooth and straight. The neck has a slim C profile and feels great. The original mini-Grover tuners all work smoothly and the guitar stays in tune perfectly. The truss rod turns smoothly. The headstock and logo display excellent. The nut is the desirable wide 1 11/16” width. The fingerboard is clean and smooth. The frets Al have been professional dressed and polished. They appear near-new condition. The string height is set low for a fast and easy action. The guitar plays super nicely. The neck has a 12” radius giving it a nice flat profile for easy playing. The scale length is 24.75” and it has 22 frets.
The pickups have been upgraded to Seymour Duncan Zebras. The neck has a Pearly Gates model and the bridge has a Duncan Distortion High Output model. This guitar is excellent for shred-fest, metal and blues leads as well as being perfect for rhythm. All electronics function perfectly and smoothly. The original Nashville tune-o-matic bridge functions perfectly and the original nickel stop tailpiece holds down the strings. The Explorer has had a different pickguard on it at one point-and there are a couple of extra screw holes as evidence, however, they are completely covered by the original-style pickguard that is on it now. The strap pins have also been replaced with strap lock style pins.
Guitar is very solid and has a medium weight-at 9.07 lbs. it has a nice balance and feels great-it is a lot of fun to play.
Comes complete with original Gibson hardcase.
