Hi folks, looking to pass along a very nice 335. My understanding is that this guitar is from the first year production moved back to Nashville. It has the satin finish, but a previous owner had the guitar buffed, so it appears as a gloss finish. You can see the “off the gun” orange peel if you look very closely, but the lacquer looks great. The only significant marks I can see are some belt buckle type rash on the back and bit of missing paint by the pickguard bracket on the top. I tried to take a picture of the back marks, but it’s hard to catch.
The pickups are the good sounding Gibson MHS, the bridge is the new style universal Gibson tune a matic, and the tailpiece is aluminum. Weight is about 7.5 lbs.
The frets are 0.090″ wide nickel and are in great shape. I’m impressed by the factory fret levelling work on this. It was totally playable from the get go with no levelling needed. Truss rod works fine.
Some neck dimensions: neck width at nut 1.675″, width at 12the fret 2.050″,
thickness just past the 1st 0.859″, just past the 12th 0.955″. I’ve got small hands but the neck feels good. Substantial, but not too beefy.
I bought this as a backup guitar to my Heritage 530 but I just haven’t been playing it. Someone needs to put this to work as it’s honestly one of the best 335’s I’ve played and I’ve played a lot of them.
Comes with original case in excellent shape and C.O.A. The guitar is currently set up for a D’addario 11-49 set. If you’d prefer a .010″ – .046″ let me know and I can make adjustments.
