Gibson Custom Shop Japan Limited Run True Historic 1959 Les Paul Standard HRM Tom Murphy Aged -2017-

In 2015, the Historic Collection ended and the new “True Historic” lineup was added.

The one we have just received was made in 2017, and since the “True Historic” collection will end in late 2017, it can be said that this is the last one.

The top of the top is selected by a dealer in Japan, and the top is a lemon burst color with a straight grain.
Aged by Tom Murphy, a master craftsman himself.
There is also a TM mark under the front Vol.

The original 1959 Les Paul was 3D scanned to create a True Historic that closely resembles the original shape, with double carving on the body top to achieve a beautiful curve.

The mahogany grain and color of the neck and body are matched and selected, and the mahogany is aniline-dyed.

The body is smaller in circumference than before, and the thickness of the mahogany has been changed at the neck joint and at the body end to improve the balance when held.

The neck shape is the same as the original 1959 with rolled binding.
Reproduction of a neck that is easy to grip and handle.

All parts have been researched from the original vintage, and the pickguard, pickup mounting rings, knobs, switch plate, and jack plate are made of the same material, thickness, and number of pieces of material used at the time of formation, and have been refined for True Historic use.

The pickups are custom buckers with a vintage-like sound, and the midrange extension when the volume is turned up is unbearable.

This is a very rare instrument nowadays.
