1996 Gibson Custom Shop Historic 1959 Reissue Les Paul.
The mid 90’s were definitely a “Good Wood” era for Gibson, the woods used on these early 90’s Gibson Custom Shop Historic Reissues are certainly testimony to that. The sweet spot by all accounts were the 1996 Historic’s, the builds were top notch and all the tops were absolutely Stunning.
This particular piece is a jaw dropper. The Top is the most unique and stunning Flame burst I have personally ever seen on these early Custom Shop offerings. The finish is breathtaking, with a gorgeous washed Cherry Sunburst finish. The grain on this top is multi-directional, deeply figured and intricate. Pictures simply can not accurately capture this level of beauty.
