I am selling my 60th Anniversary 1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard, which I personally selected during a trip to Thomann. Among all the available 1959 Les Pauls in the store, this one stood out due to its exceptional tonal quality, beautiful finish, and craftsmanship. It has been my cherished possession ever since.
This guitar has never left my home, as I am an enthusiastic amateur musician who plays purely for personal enjoyment. It has been meticulously cared for and remains in pristine, as-new condition.
Key Features:
• Top: 2-piece figured maple with a stunning sunburst finish
• Back: Lightweight 1-piece mahogany for optimal resonance
• Neck Profile: Authentic 50s rounded medium C
• Fingerboard: Indian or Bolivian rosewood with aged cellulose nitrate trapezoid inlays
• Pickups: Custombucker Alnico III (unpotted) for a vintage tone
• Finish: Nitrocellulose VOS (Vintage Patina), replicating the look of the original 1959 models
• Weight Relief: None, true to the original design
• Hardware: Nickel-plated brass saddles, Kluson single-line tuners, and lightweight aluminum stop bar
It also comes with all original documentation and accessories, including:
• Case: Brown/pink Lifton Reissue with 5-latch closure
• Certificate of Authenticity: Signed by the General Manager of the Gibson Custom Shop
• Extras: 60th Anniversary medallion, booklet, and historic hang tags
This Les Paul faithfully replicates the iconic 1959 model that became a legend in the hands of players like Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, and Jeff Beck.
The reason for selling? I am itching to make another trip to Thomann to pick out a new guitar, but I promised myself (and others!) not to increase the number of guitars I own. To make room for a Les Paul Murphy Lab, I’ve made the tough decision to part with this beauty.
