Gibson L-6S is now in stock.
The L-6S was created in 1973 as a futuristic electric guitar, and was only manufactured for a short period of time, until 1978.
The one we have in stock has the volume pot dated 73, and one of the two tone pots has been changed from the original, but the other one was made in 1974, so we will list it as made in 1974.
This guitar has 24 frets, which is rare for Gibson guitars. The body shape is rounded and thin, and maple is used for the body, neck, and fingerboard.
The pickups are Super Humbacker developed by Bill Lawrence, famous for the L-500.
A 6-way rotary switch allows selection of various coil combinations, including phase out/in.
Position 1 is front/rear PU in series, position 2 is front pickup, position 3 is front/rear PU in parallel, position 4 is front/rear PU in parallel phase out capacitor, position 5 is rear pickup, position 6 is front/rear PU in Position 5 is the rear pickup, and position 6 is the front/rear PU in series phase out.
The pegs are made by Schaller with original GIBSON engraving, but the buttons have been changed to Imperial type.
In addition, the nut has been changed and the frets may have been refretted.
The guitar is in good playing condition and can be used without hesitation.
