Here’s a 1979 Gibson Les Paul Custom Silverburst in all original condition under the hood, with original case! Also appraised and inspected by Dave’s Guitar Shop.
This guitar has been meticulously inspected, conditioned, and setup with brand new D’Addario 10 gauge strings.
Serial is 70179633, early 1979. Pots date to 78, patent stamped pickups are dated Bridge 12/19/78, 9/20/78 on neck.
Ebony fretboard with trapezoid pearl inlays, maple neck incredible in the hands. 0.78″ at 1st fret and 0.93″ at 12th fret.
1.92″ body thickness
Weight: 10.5 lbs
Original frets show almost no wear. Guitar plays clean up and down the neck, a joy to play. Truss Rod is inspected and tested.
Condition is Very Good. Cosmetic signs of playwear including pick swirl, fine lines, dings, buckle rash, etc. Please see pictures for best condition description. Compared to many examples from this era, there is very little wear. Hard to find with such little fading and finish checking. It has a nashville bridge, which I believe predates the tp6 bridge found on later models. It is possible that the original bridge on this guitar was a tp6. It has one non original strap lock button.
Electronics operate clean and quiet. Pickups are a dream!
