Rare 1967 ES-335 12 string, very clean. The serial # of this instrument is 862366. Based on my research, Gibsons with an imprinted stamp between 859001 to 895038 are 1967 instruments.
However, this is possibly a late 1966 or early 1967 model as it has a few rare features – like the sought-after “wide bevel” 335 pickguard, which was phased out in 1967. It also has the classic reflector knobs instead of the later “witch hat” style from most 1967 examples.
From a single owner in a smoke-free home for the last 5 decades. The finish has developed an absolutely stunning nitrocellulose checking pattern. The guitar has an easy-to-play neck and is overall in great condition. All original, even those super-rare Kluson tuners!
There is some minor wear – please see the pictures for full details. One knob has a bit of cosmetic damage, and there are a couple minor scuffs on the instrument. Nothing out of the ordinary for a 50 year old instrument! All the hardware and electronics work perfectly.
The original hardshell case is gone, but I’m including a brand new plush case (see photo). It’s not a “factory” fit, but it’s the closest modern case available and the guitar will be securely packed before shipping.
