Check out this killer players grade 1966 SG Standard! It plays and sounds great.
All the electronics are original. The original cover was taken off of the neck pickup at some point by the previous owner to confirm that the pickups are the pre t-top patent sticker pickups.
At one point the guitar had a heel repair, this is faintly visible but you can see a few dowels under the finish at certain angles. The work was done very well. The neck joint is rock solid, and the neck angle is perfect.
The SG has been fully refinished. This was a pro job, and the metallic red finish looks great. There is some touch up spray towards the bottom of the neck in a more solid red, but it’s not something that is immediately noticeable. The refinish did include the face of the headstock, as well as over the binding on the neck. The first 4 digits of the serial number are still easily visible, and the last two are visible at certain angles.
The guitar will come with a 1980’s Epiphone branded chainsaw case. It’s a very nice case, and fairly rare, this is certainly the first one we have seen. It’s truly a great players grade SG. Nut width appears to be a medium 1 and 10/16”. Neck depth at the first fret is 0.86” and 0.99” at the 12th fret.
