If you thought it couldn’t get any stinkier in your feed check again
Here we have a 1955 Les Paul Junior in player grade condition
The finish has been stripped and covered in shellac, likely in the 70’s. This was common practice back in the day and is thin enough to be removed IF desired, although I would go as far as to say that it is part of this guitars history and cool mojo
The headstock had a very well done repair that was done in the 60’s and is still holding fast and strong! Likely a clean break with a very crafty repairman manning the helm.
During this refinish, the serial number was lost unfortunately. However, the slimmer profile on the neck, as well as the position of the bridge post closest to the pickup helps identify the year; on top of the testimony of the original owner
The electronics are 1959 Centralab pots as well as the bumblebee capacitor, while the pickup is believed to have new bobbins. However the plate, wire, and the pickup itself seem to be original with around a 7.4K output
Tuners are mid to late 50’s single line kluson tuners fitted with conversion bushings, the tuner holes were schallered at one point and have had a return to form as you see it now!
Tailpiece is original as well as the studs which were lengthened in order to improve the tuning stability and structure of the bridge
Truss rod cover, pickguard, strap buttons are original
The fretboard is missing dot marker inlays for positions 3, 7, and 9
This item is ‘Vintage’ therefore it is sold “AS-IS” with no exceptions, these items are not in perfect shape and are advertised and described with complete transparency
