This early 1955 Gibson Les Paul Junior (1954 specs) is a one-of-a-kind guitar! Starting out as a single cut Sunburst example, this guitar was sent back to Gibson (Kalamazoo, MI) in 1977 where it was factory refinished in Cherry and also got a re-fret at the same time.
All of the documentation from Gibson including a copy of the check used to pay for the labor is included (FYI – not much is mentioned on the invoice). The guitar doesn’t have any repairs or cracks, however Gibson didn’t re-stamp the serial number on the back of the headstock after the full refin.
This Junior has a very comfortable Rounded Medium C neck profile and a Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard with barely any wear. The electronics and hardware are original, except for the reproduction single-line Kluson Deluxe tuners and truss rod cover.
The guitar weighs 7.62 pounds or 3.46 kg.
At the time of the refin, the owner also purchased a case which is the one that comes with the guitar (2 broken latches out of 5).
