Fender Stratocaster with 3-Bolt Neck, Maple Fretboard 1975 – Black

$ 3735.70

This instrument from 1975, with its distinctive relic-like appearance, arrived to us with a flaking polyurethane finish as is common with vintage guitars from this era. What you see is all original wear and not a relicing job but rather we chose to have our luthier preserve the guitar in its original state which involved sanding and polishing the worst points of wear to prevent further detioration.

Features commensurate with the model year such as the large headstock with F style tuning machines, 1 piece maple, 3 bolt neck and ash body are all present. Another unique feature from this era is the die-cast bridge with a slightly narrower string pitch than previous models. Additionally, the grey bobbin pickups, pots, 3-way selector switch and electronics assembly remain original while the knobs and some screws are more recent replacements and the plastic back panel is missing.

While the guitar functions as it should, the frets are low at 40 – 50% but have been levelled and crowned ensuring is no problem with playability. The neck is straight with room for adjustment via the truss rod in either direction. Cosmetically there is heavy cracking, scratches, ding dents, chips out of the finish and discoloration throughout. There is also a mark on the back of the headstock where a pick holder was erroneously secured.

Please examine the photos carefully and should you wish to see more photos in natural light we well be happy to provide them.

Comes with the original hard case, tremolo arm, inspection tag and manual.
