Fender Mustang Guitar with Rosewood Fretboard 1965 Red

Up for sale we have a 1965 Fender Mustang in original Red finish with original hardshell case. The guitar is in 100% original condition and in very good overall shape with some light cosmetic wear from normal use over the years. There are some small dings and dents throughout the body as well as moderate lacquer checking. Structurally sound with no breaks, cracks or repairs. The guitar features a 24″ scale length, solid Offset waist body, Maple neck, Brazilian Rosewood fretboard with pearl dot fret markers, Vibrato tailpiece, two excellent sounding single coil pickups with master volume and tone controls and each with their own On/Off/On slider switches. The electronics all function as they should. The two pot codes both date to the 20th week of 1965. The medium sized neck features a comfortable round C-shape profile with moderate taper in width and depth as you make your way towards the headstock from the neck joint. The neck stamp, although a bit faint, reads “8JUL65B”. The thickness of the neck measures .79″ deep at the first fret and .96″ deep at the twelfth fret. Width at the nut measures 1 5/8″. The original frets are present and show moderate play wear, there is some decent life left in them and the neck plays up and down with no dead spots. Original bridge cover included. The guitar weighs in at 6 lbs. 9 oz. Overall a great playing Mustang and a piece of history from Fender’s golden age. Will be professionally packed with care.
