Fender Japan Stratocaster ST62 Blue Metallic w/ Monty’s Full Monty Stratocaster pickups MIJ Crafted in Japan

$ 1212.18

Part of our Fender Japan electronics upgrade series, this ST62 Stratocaster Blue Metallic w/ Monty’s Full Monty Stratocaster is up for sale.

The S serial number prefix indicates this guitar was manufactured at the Dyna Gakki factory sometime between 2006 and 2008 and absolutely holds its own against any Fujigen factory instrument. For this guitar to reach its true potential we swapped out the pickups and the entire electronics assembly for a significant sonic upgrade. CTS pots, Sprague .047uF orange drop capacitor, and push back cloth wiring all ensure that the massive tone from these wonderful Full Monty pickups reaches your amp and ears unimpeded by an inferior signal path. Monty’s is a boutique pickup winder out of the UK head up by one Matt Gleeson, who worked for many years as a respected guitar technician in London where he had the rare opportunity to study the pickups in literally some of the most famous guitars in history. These are full bodied, high ouput pickups that maintain the clarity and character of the Stratocaster while also being able to pack a punch. Highly recommended for gain loving Strat players.

Apart from the electronics this is a standard ST62, with a very comfortable oval shaped neck profile with rolled edges, a 21 fret rosewood board and a basswood body in a killer blue metallic finish beautifully enhanced with a dark “tortoise shell” pickguard. A typcial 5-way switch and 1 vol/2 tone situation controls the output with the tone having no effect on the bridge pickup.

Cosmetically the guitar is in excellent condition with only some picking wear on the pickguard but no scratches to the body, little to no corrosion on the pickguard and robust frets.

Comes with the original tremolo arm, soft case and Monty’s pickup box with stickers, etc. are included. *Please not that the plastic back panel is missing.
