Fender Japan Exclusive Series” is a new lineup of made-in-Japan guitars to replace “Fender Japan” brand guitars that were discontinued due to a change of distributor in April 2015. With the convincing quality that only made in Japan can provide, this model inherits the specifications of the former model number “Fender Japan TL71/ASH”. This one has an ash body, one string guide, and modern CBS logo, inspired by 1971 specifications. The nut width is slightly slender at about 41mm, and the punchy sound from the ferrite magnet pickups is useful for both backing and lead sound creation.
The pickguard has been replaced from white to tortoiseshell pattern, and the bridge saddle has been replaced with a brass one. Overall, there are some minor scratches and dings scattered throughout, and there is a slight feeling of use, but each part has been maintained and cleaned, and playability is not a problem.
