1964 Fender Electric Bass VI with a professional body refinish to ‘Shell Pink’ by Frank Grubisa over 20 years ago.
This particular example has been well played, and thus had had some modifications over the years including:
– Body only refinish to Shell Pink, there are no extra routes or issues other than an abr1 bridge at some point. A reissue bridge is currently installed.
– Decal has been replaced with clear overspray on the front of the headstock.
– Schaller tuners installed at some point, kluson style tuners are currently installed. A larger nut was installed at some point with Frank having repaired this.
– The bridge and middle pickups have been professionally rewound by Slider pickups to match the original neck pickup.
– The tremolo unit is a period part that’s not original to the guitar.
Otherwise this guitar retains all 3 of its original black bottom pickups, and its original stackpole 250k pots dating to the 20th week of ’63. The original cap, cloth wiring and input jack remain, as well as the original 3-ply tortoiseshell pickguard.
A fantastic workhorse Bass VI with all of the important parts, includes its original Stamford import case with purple interior.
