Fender American Vintage ’52 Telecaster 2017 Blonde w/Upgrades

$ 2350.00

If you’re not familiar with the 2013-2017 American Vintage series, they are probably the finest reissues to come out of the Fender factory’s non-Custom Shop line. Top quality woods, close attention to detail, and thin nitro finishes without an undercoat. This is a great blackguard-style Tele, nice and light at 7lbs 4oz with a swamp ash body and super-comfortable maple U neck, and in great cosmetic condition considering its age and the thin finish. It’s been played but taken care of, with numerous minor scratches and scuffs in the clear coat, but only a couple small chips through to the wood (one at the neck joint, and the other on the lower bout, both pictured).

This one has a couple premium upgrades. Most notable is a professional refret; I had the original tiny vintage-style frets replaced with 6105s. Maple necks are pricier to refret, and the job ran about $550. It plays beautiful, with the bigger frets facilitating deep bends. The bridge pickup was upgraded to a Custom Shop Nocaster for a little more midrange and bass (the original bridge pickup is also included), and the tone control is wired to a Mojotone oil capacitor.

The original hardshell case includes much of the original candy, including strap, cable, polish cloth, ashtray bridge cover, and even much of the original paperwork. Sold as-is, all sales final.
