Fender American Stratocaster – Rare HARDTAIL – 1999 – Natural Ash & Maple Fretboard – Gator Case

$ 1499.00

Here you have a 1999 Fender American Stratocaster. This is the somewhat rare “HARDTAIL” version — meaning no tremolo, and the strings are loaded through the body.

As you can see, it comes in the “natural” finish, with a nicely grained ash body, and maple neck and fretboard. The finish is glossy, not satin.

The body is actually two pieces, bookmatched, and it’s almost impossible to find the seam from the front or back. You can see it on the ends — right straight down the middle, where it should be.

Excellent condition. I found only a few minor polishing marks in the glossy polyurethane finish. If you look VERY closely, you might see a tiny bit of fretwear on the first two strings, but no grooves and no buzzing. I included a photo, but it’s hard to see.

No other issues. You will NOT be disappointed. No scratches, dings, dents, scuffs, scrapes, chips, cracks, rust, tarnish, buckle rash, or worming. No cracks in the neck pockets. Everything works like it should.

Please note that when I bought this two years ago, I replaced the pickguard, pickup covers, and knobs with genuine Fender parts. A previous owner had added a grey tortoise pickguard, and aged white knobs, which I thought were horrible looking, so I went with an all-black look. No black plate since there’s no tremolo springs.

It ships in a practically new Gator padded nylon case. This has very thick padding and a durable nylon exterior with a wraparound zipper, a loop handle, and a clip-on should strap. Two pockets on the side (one of them is mesh for some reason) and some storage areas inside. It’s a nice case.

Buyer pays $65 for UPS Ground shipping to anywhere in the continental USA. I promise to pack it well and will do my best to ship it within 24 hours of your payment. Sorry, but no international buyers.

Take a look at the photos, and let me know if you have any questions at all. Thanks for looking!
