FENDER 1974 Stratocaster Alder Body Black [SN 578338] (05/10)

$ 4934.74

Fender Stratocaster made in 1974 is now in stock.

Fender Stratocaster, which was born in the 50’s, has been loved by many musicians all over the world, and many guitarists have used it.

This 1974 Fender Stratocaster was made after Fender was acquired by CBS.
The large head has a truss rod adjustable bullet from the head side.
The neck plate has a three-point fastening, and there are many other differences from the Fenders of the 1950s through the mid-1960s.

The body is made of ash, but the one we have just received is made of alder, and weighs 3.36kg. The weight of this guitar is 3.36 kg, which is quite lightweight!
The pickups are ’74 gray bobbin with staccato polepiece.
The pickups were switched to flat pole pieces in the middle of 1974, so these are the specifications of the first half of 1974.

The neck is made of maple, not the “pasted-maple” style seen in the late 60’s, where another piece of maple is pasted on the fingerboard, but a one-piece neck made of the same maple as the neck.

The plate serial number is 578338, manufactured in 1974.
There is no date on the neck, but it is likely that it was not originally written on the neck, as there are some pieces from this period that do not have any date on them.

The pots are all made by CTS, and the dates indicate that they were made in 1974.
The selector is a CRL 3-Way, which corresponds to the original specifications.
The capacitor is a Circle D, also original, and a further capacitor has been added to the volume pot by a past owner.
The pickguard is 3-ply with matted back side, which seems to be original from ’71 or later.

The bridge is a die-cast bridge (No.010347) which seems to be from ’73 or later. The back side of the bridge saddle also has the Fender part number “027037” stamped on it.

The bridge has been modified in some places, such as screws and spring hangers, but it is still in relatively original condition for a 70’s model.
The frets appear to be original.

The frets appear to be original and have been lowered considerably after years of use.
Therefore, we will not modify the frets, and the guitar will be presented as it is now.

The fact that about 50 years have passed since its manufacture, not only the wood but also many of the parts have been well used and have many signs of having been used, giving the instrument a vintage look. This is a vintage!

The price is very reasonable due to the overall condition of the piece.

You can use it as it is or overhaul it to suit your own taste.
This is a piece with a variety of options.

* Arm is missing. A Fender hard case of different age is included.
