We are pleased to announce the arrival of a 1964 Fender Jazzmaster.
This Fender Jazz Guitar model was born in 1958 to compete with the G Company, which was the dominant player in the jazz music scene at that time. The newly developed body shape, switches and tremolo unit were designed with the surf music of the time in mind. The shimming of the neck angle just before shipping shows that Fender put a lot of effort into this guitar at that time.
This is one of the 1964 guitars we have in stock. The serial number is L25725 and the neck date is “4 JUL 63B”.
The body is 12/63, also made in 1963. There are no assembly changes, and the color of the solder seems to be all original. Pickups are black bobbin (with 64Date), and both front and rear height adjustment sponges are hard and deteriorated.
Pot Date is 137-6410, made in ’64. Vol and Tone on the Preset Sound Switch side are not visible, but judging from the visible parts, it seems to be original. The condenser is also original.
Pot Date, PU Date, Serial, etc. are all considered to be 1964.
The original pickguard is deformed due to aging, and is generally distorted. The selector knob is also lightly cracked.
Replacement parts are the frets, nut, control knob, and bridge. Overall, the red color remains beautiful, and considering the age of the instrument, it is highly original and in beautiful condition. The truss rod has plenty of room, and playability is excellent.
The price of Jazzmasters has been rising in recent years. This is one of the most royal and universally appealing sunburst-colored Jazzmasters. This is a guitar in excellent player’s condition, perfect for a lifetime.
Please consider this opportunity.
