Up for sale, a 1979 Fender Stratocaster in exceptional condition and in perfect working order, complete with a Fender/SKB molded hardshell case. This vintage USA-made Stratocaster has been upgraded with a trio of Lollar Sixty-Four single coil pickups and sports a gloss two-tone Sunburst finish.
With an ash body, this Stratocaster weighs 10lbs 4oz, yielding plenty of natural punch, sustain and throaty cut. The Lollar Sixty-Four single coil pickups are a premium boutique set, wound for “prominent midrange and clear top end with a piano-like attack.” The pickups have flush mounted alnico pole pieces, in-line with spec for 1979, and the middle pickup is RWRP, hum-cancelling in positions 2 and 4 and offering a distinctive silky cut in those “in-between” positions on the five-way pickup selector. This Strat has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss two-tone Sunburst finish highlights the dynamic grain in the ash body, exhibiting limited buckle worming on the back, faint scuffing along the pick path, and some small dings on the body as a whole. There are also two small touched-up finish chips on the edge at the treble-side waist on top. The smooth ambered gloss on the neck profile is nigh flawless, and the guitar smells faintly smokey.
An early Fender SKB molded hardshell case is included.
