Fantastic example of a ’62 AVRI, originally exported and sold in the Japanese market, featuring a well-balanced 2-piece lightweight alder body and dark rosewood fretboard. I’ve owned several AVRIs over the years, and this is hands-down the best one I have playedโฆand with the natural play wear and lacquer checking, the vibiest. I find most of these have sticky necks, but this one is perfectly worn in and is a joy to play.
100% fully functional without issue.
Condition
Cosmetically, the guitar is in great shape for its age. The finish has lacquer checking, superficial surface scratches, and some minor dings/chips. Chips at top of vibrato (from previously installed buzz stop). Chrome hardware has scratches and patina. Back of the neck is clean no dings or scratches, and worn to a satin finish. Frets have essentially no wear.
