Individually handcrafted by the artisans of the ESP Custom Shop in Japan, the ESP Alexi Ripped is the identical model designed and performed by one of metal music’s most popular and influential figures: Alexi Laiho of Children of Bodom/Bodom Midnight. The ESP Alexi Hexed is offered in an offset V shape with neck-through-body construction in a 25.5-inch scale. It features a three-piece, thin U-shaped maple neck with a natural satin finish for smooth and fast playability, alder body wings, and an ebony fingerboard (scalloped from frets 19 to 24) with 24 extra-jumbo frets, sawtooth inlays, and gloss side markers in the dark. The Alexi Ripped model is the first guitar in the Alexi Laiho Signature Series with more than one pickup. It includes a passive EMG HZ F-H2 humbucker in the bridge position, a ceramic high-gain pickup that provides excellent presence and clarity with a punchy response, and a passive stacked single-coil EMG HZ S2 in the neck for accurate the right mix of mids with a clear and full bass range. It also includes an ESP MM-04 active boost switch, a preamp circuit with adjustable EQ settings and up to 18dB boost when you need it! Just like Alexi’s personal instrument, the E-II Alexi Ripped features high-end components such as Gotoh locking tuners, ESP strap buckles, a double-locking Floyd Rose original bridge and chrome-plated hardware including a volume control and a recessed three-way pickup selector switch and boost switch. Available in “Purple Fade Satin” finish with painted black satin “ribbed” pinstripes, with black satin on the back and sides. Includes deluxe ESP hard case.
