JTal Guitars MODEL 0027 – “Perilous Pearl”

Body: Original Charvel 475 Deluxe / Pearl White Finish – (produced from 89-91 by Charvel) – Very light scratches present on the body here and there but no major re-finish work to larger areas was necessary. Most noticeable blemish is a finish crack about 1 inch long near the neck pocket on the body. No structural issues with this crack, only in the clear coat/finish. NOTE: Charvel Neck Plate Serial Number 325857

Neck: Charvel 475 Deluxe Maple neck, Rosewood Fretboard, 22 frets (size: Jumbo), 25.5 scale length
, Pearl Sharkfin Inlay in like new condition. Binding has yellowed with age around the headstock and down the neck on both sides. Frets show very light signs of wear, otherwise in excellent shape. NOTE: Damage to the tip of the headstock when first arrived at JTal Guitars. See restoration notes for details about the repair/restoration.  NOTE: I have included several photos at the end of the gallery to show the repair/restoration to the end of the headstock

JTAL GUITARS Restoration Notes: From JT: “Gorgeous finish on this guitar – the body, in the pearl white metallic finish, is extremely well preserved for a guitar of this age. It has the smallest of scratches due to general play/use, but it really is in excellent shape considering it’s 31-33 years old. The headstock point had come dislodged during the shipping process of getting from one shop to me. Repair was done to reattach broken head stock point and then fill in the gaps where the binding was missing and gloss paint was fully missing at the apex of the end point. Nitrocellulose / poly combo created to attempt to match 30 year old paint. Polished and sanded with new binding that was stained to match natural yellowing of original binding. Gave it a slightly worn look at the point to look as close to the original guitar headstock normal wear and tear.

“Frets are in immaculate condition given the age of the instrument. A ton of life left and no major leveling was needed. Simply did a re-crown and polish here. Fret ends show no signs of sprout, so no beveling needed here. The fretboard was conditioned, cleaned and conditioned again to bring back moisture to the Rosewood. Pearl inlays are stunning.

“Original wiring remains in tact and in original condition – one pot needed adjustment to keep original knob secured. Jack wiring needed small bit of re-soldering to ensure a solid connection without a short/loss of sound if the cord moved in a dramatic way while engaged in the jack. Otherwise, left the wiring untouched in the control cavity. Midboost works perfectly – new 9V battery added to ensure adequate power.

“New Original Floyd Rose FRT2001984 (installed right out of the box) and intonated to /- 1 cent to pitch at 12th fret. Gold fine tuners can be replaced with black fine tuners if desired. New OFR R3 nut installed.”
